The 26-0083 Form Explained
FLIGHT CREW PERMIT / LICENCE
APPLICATION FOR ENDORSEMENT OF A RATING
A |
The PIC total time of this applicant, on all types and all categories of aircraft flown to date. The minutes spent on the ground making the flight time are not considered Instrument time therefore only the air time must be used. |
B |
The PIC total time on all aircraft of the same category of the requested rating. For example, if the pilot converts from airplane to helicopter, the requested rating category is helicopter. Therefore, only the PIC instrument air time on helicopters (any helicopter) is written here. |
C |
This box is only used for initial IFR rating applications as prescribed in CAR 421.46 (2) b) (i) stating that the applicant shall have flown 50 hours air time of cross country flying as PIC, of which at least 10 hours on the same category as the requested rating category. Write all navigation air time for this pilot, including VFR and IFR, including helicopters and airplanes. Do not write anything here for an IFR renewal. |
D |
The sum of the instrument air time and the simulator flight time of the applicant, all categories included. This is the sum of boxes E + F + I. |
E |
The instrument air time flown with a qualified instrument instructor on all aircraft of all categories combined, airplane and helicopter. |
F |
The instrument air time flown with an IFR-rated professional pilot or an ATPL pilot (see CAR 425.21 (9)), on all aircraft of all categories combined, airplane and helicopter. |
G |
Instrument air time on the same category as the requested rating. For example, if the applicant converts from airplane to helicopter, the requested category is helicopter. Therefore only write the instrument air time flown on helicopter. |
H |
This is the air time duration of the 100 nm instrument cross country flight. If more than one cross country trips were made, choose one and write its duration in box H. If the applicant converts from airplane to helicopter, this cross country flight may have been flown on either category provided the applicant has at least 5 hours instrument air time on helicopter. See CAR 421.46 (2) b) (ii) B |
I |
Total training time ("flight time") performed in synthetic flight training devices of all categories, provided each device was certificated and maintained certificated by Transport Canada throughout the training and testing of the applicant. In section "Flight Simulator Location and Type", for each device used, you must write the make and model of the simulator (i.e. CAE B727-200 FFS) and the 4-digit certification number issued by Transport Canada found on the placarded certification letter near the simulator's entrance door. |
